🏀 2016 Bracketology

I don't know about him,but I think 9-9 in the league gives us a shot, but puts us in the danger zone should upstarts win a few conference tournaments and their are teams who would go anyway.
Absolutely, I'd rather Bama not risk it, but the last two games are nothing to look over. But if it adds any comfort, Mike Anderson has shown that he cannot get Arkansas to win on the road, and UGA has been very poor lately.

Insane how we can speculate this right now. We were predicted to finish 13th in the SEC.

I have no reason to value Palm over Lunardi other than he has been doing bracketology longer than Lunardi. With four weeks until selection Sunday it is just a little bit above guesswork. This time in the season under the prior staff we already knew we had to finish strong and have a big run in the SEC tournament to bet a bid, and for the most part we did not.

Just win baby.

Lunardi is very good at predicting the teams that make it in. If he misses it's usually only one team. I think now the worst we finish is 9-9 in conference. Win at least one game in the SEC tourny and we are in take it to the bank. Remember Louisville and SMU can not go to the big dance so that is huge for us. We automatically jump up two spots.

Vandy's issue is Kevin Stallings. Ever since winning the SEC in '12, he hasn't finished above .500 in conference. He's been there for 17 seasons and hasnt gotten past the sweet 16. If they moss the tourney this year, think they may look elsewhere.

Does Vandy's loss give Bama any cushioning IF...if Bama loses tomorrow night?
It's a much more crucial loss for Vandy. Losing to at LSU will not be as detrimental to Bama's resume as Vandy's loss at State.

Essentially, Bama can still be in if they just win games vs Auburn, Arkansas, Georgia and Mississippi State.

I think so too. Using the metric of 9-9 SEC though, the Tide could lose one of those three as well and still make it.

It's hard to believe the conference schedule is only 2/3 complete.

It gives them a 'bad loss', comparable to our loss at Auburn. They played a strong OOC schedule, perhaps a tougher one than we did, but they don't have 'good wins' in that part of their schedule. They can still get in, but their remaining schedule is not easy and they have little margin for error.

Lunardi moved us up to the last four in today before the LSU win.
