Am I that old or out of touch, when did sandals/flip flops and socks become a thing that wasn't laughed at.... other than when 300+ plus pound men starting doing it to dare you to laugh.
They arent flip flops they are slides. They are meant for the locker room after practice so you arent walking around in cleats and potentially slipping, etc. Under Armor, Nike, and other make them but you see them every where. My 13 year old son has a friend that wears them to our house all the time and slips them off at the door when he comes in.
Wednesday, Alabama’s offensive line was awarded the inaugural Joe Moore award — and with it, the largest trophy you’ve ever seen. It was a figuratively and literally huge reminder of how important the unit was during Henry’s record-breaking, award-hoarding season.
And now, the linemen are receiving another prize — recognition from the man whose stellar season they enabled. And a free meal.

They are sandals/flip flops/slippers or if you are Hawaiian or otherwise Polynesian I'd give you slippas. In all it is semantics, but I won't yield to either footwear companies or the "yutes" of today recreating the wheel and branding it as something else.

CATCH THE PREMIERE OF "TOUGHNESS IN THE TRENCHES: THE JOE MOORE AWARD" TONIGHT 9pm EST on CBS Sports Network
Happy New Year! We hope you're enjoying the holidays and the college bowl season. We can't think of a better way to start 2016 than by celebrating the inaugural year of the Joe Moore Award with a television special. "Toughness in the Trenches: the Joe Moore Award" will air tonight, January 1st, at 9pm EST on the CBS Sports Network.
The special will feature a segment on Coach Joe Moore and analysis of each of the six Joe Moore Award Finalists (Alabama, Arkansas, Iowa, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Stanford), as well as a "making of" feature on the record-breaking, 350-pound trophy. We know that #16 Oklahoma State and #12 Ole Miss will be squaring off in the Allstate Sugar Bowl at that time, so please DVR the Joe Moore special to watch later. It will be the perfect primer for the upcoming CFP National Championship game.
We wish you all a safe, happy, healthy and successful New Year. We can't wait for next season to see which Units will compete for the Joe Moore Award!
