I have been living it. GameDay traffic is going to be a nightmare this year

This year will be much worse due to the fact that they're working on I-59/I-20, there's more work downtown (corner of Greensboro and University is having the buildings demolished to make way for redevelopment), the bridge in Alberta is being rebuilt, and there's the new shopping center built on McFarland right across from the Lofts at City Center, which will have ALDI and Texas RoadHouse.

But a side note for anyone who's coming from Montgomery or Prattville, the US 82 bypass is now open officially, so you no longer have to travel through Centreville.

Centreville is a joke and I hope they lose alot of revenue. I once received a speeding ticket going through there. Want to know what they clocked me at? 1, yes 1 mile an hour over the speed limit. Sour grapes really but there you go.
Back on track- sounds like a nightmare. It will be good coming from Birmingham?

You are still going to have problems coming from Birmingham. 20/59 is being worked on from a couple of miles south of Mercedes all the way to 359. From birmingham you would want to take the Cottondale / coaling exit and take University Blvd to veterans memorial Pkwy. If you're familiar with the area it may be better to go through holt and get on river rd.

I'm not coming down until the ULM game. Will still probably get the same hotel we always stay at. The Laquinta in Hoover. It's a really nice place with a good price. I'll ask for an update closer to that game.

Whenever I was coming back from out of town, I always took the Cottondale exit, but took 25th avenue to Jack Warner, then to downtown.

Smoke free campus including ecigs/vape. I can't see that going over too well on gameday if they actually try to enforce it.

I work in Cottondale and have started going that way to downtown area. 25th may be too small for gameday traffic. gameday traffic will probably be better off taking Crescent Rd to Jack Warner.

Yeah that is going to be very interesting

Especially if they attempt to enforce it on the Quad pregame.

Traffic in Tuscaloosa is already horrible now without football. All that construction around McFarland has made it a nightmare pretty much every day. That's what happens though when you allow the developers to provide their own Traffic Impact Study rather than using an unbiased third party to do that.

Im curious to see how they enforce it. I dont smoke but I also dont mind smokers in open areas.

As long as there's not several of them blocking an entrance way, forcing you through a fog of smoke every time you enter and exit a building.
