šŸˆ 2013 SEC strength of schedule through six weeks

We’re nearing the halfway point of the 2013 college football season. Can you believe it? Six weeks are already in the books.

Let’s take a look specifically at how the NCAA ranks the strength of schedule for each team. Again, this is the NCAA’s method, not SDS’.

Here are the first-half schedules, ranked in order of difficulty by opponent winning percentage, based on 2013 results:

A couple of notes:

  • Georgia has played the toughest schedule, facing three top 10 teams in Clemson, South Carolina and LSU, although the win/loss record says MSU has played the toughest. And Georgia faces yet another ranked opponent Saturday against Missouri.
  • Mississippi State has faced Oklahoma State and LSU, as well as a 4-1 Auburn team that could be ranked soon.
  • LSU and Vanderbilt have played the two easiest schedules thus far, and most of it has everything to do with their non-conference opponents.
