this was a quick schedule change year (thanks to Mizzou and TAMU), so was probably hard for the scheduling folks to stick it to Bama this year (er, mistakenly schedule all bye weeks before Bama)

It was a quick schedule year resulting in meetings to set up this falls schedule.
However, the schedule for football was done on a 10 year basis in 1992, then again in 2002. The schedule changes were going to happen for the 2012 season as it was...it just so happened both fell on the same season.
Despite games @Ark, @Tenn, and @LSU, I think this looks like another pretty easy schedule for us. The most interesting game being the one with aTm. We complete a stretch of Mizzou-Tenn-Miss St-LSU with the Aggies, meanwhile they are coming off a stretch of LSU-Da Barn-Miss St. I would expect both defenses to be so exhausted, both teams may score over 40. <o></o>
I suspect they'll have a fairly good defense this season. Van Gorder did a good job at UGA. He probably has fielded the best defense they've had in Athens since their success in the early 80's. With the Tigers returning their front seven, I'd be shocked if they aren't in the top five in the SEC in defense next season. Likely a top 20 defense nationwide.
That bye before @Mizz is going to give us a good resting because after that its a pretty hard stretch. Any idea why we had to switch Miss St. earlier and play LSU later?

LSU really hasn't changed. We played them the 5th last year. All that's changed in MSU is now on the UT week (from last year) and UT is a week earlier.
On the third Saturday of October where it's SUPPOSED to be!

I can't give you the exact definition, because there are 13 other teams that come into play with our schedule...well, not 13 this year, but it was evident something had to give to bring in another western division opponent. For example, last year we had three eastern teams in the month of October. This year, two.
