🏈 2009 Utah Utes thread

I'll restrict all discussion to this thread.

I think a B grade is fair for their performance tonight. 520 yards and 35 points is disproportionate, and the defense gave up some big plays, but the new QB looked good, and our offensive playmakers earned their keep.

It was great to see old friends and tailgate as well.

We've got San Jose St next Saturday.

They looked good against a bad team. They did kick our ass last year, but I don't think many players on the Alabama team really wanted to be there.

Does Utah play any good teams this year?

I'm not saying they didn't whip us, but facts are facts. You can call it an excuse, but you can't say it isn't a valid one.

They have Oregon and Louisville out of conference and BYU and TCU in conference. A lot of Big 10 teams don't play a schedule that tough.

Very nicely put, BamaCore. I have often felt this way also. Sure, we were beaten and we deserved to be beat and a good team with a solid performance put the woodshed into use.

Utah is a fine team and 'Bama was lucky to be playing them in a bowl game. Imagine us playing Oklahoma and not having Andre Smith or the guy that was slated to replace him that had practiced in the spot for 3 days or so.

Excuses, sure they are. Legitimate, I certainly think so. But, as soon as we mention it we are told to stop crying and making excuses.

In the end, Congrats Utes. Just like that old dude said, the wise one that dispensed wisdom, Congratulations to Texas!

Yeah, we played USU, which we beat 58-10 last year, and hasn't made a bowl game since 1997. But our DC from last year is their head coach now, and they're a much better team.

TCU and Oregon are both preseason top 20 teams, and we play them on the road. BYU is top 25. Oregon looked atrocious, didn't they?

We have some things to clean up, and yes, consider the competition, but I was pleased with the way we addressed our offseason concerns.

I would type all in caps but, I would be corrected and rightly so. That is how happy I am for Utah; I am really happy and proud of them.

Haha, you're more optimistic than I am. An Alabama rematch for the BCS title would be fine by me, though!

I'm excited to see what Alabama does tomorrow night. I'll have my Bama gear on with a few cold ones, ready to watch the Tide roll!

Why are ya'll still talking about the utes on a Bama website? It's akin to holding the pocket in prison. Yes they kicked the $hit out of us but I for one am tired of any thing Utah. :swear:

Screw Utah. If they were so confident they would have played Florida to begin the season. I don't ever want to hear that nobody will play you. Florida tried to schedule a game but Utah wanted Florida to pay them a million bucks. Why should anyone pay a team that went to a BCS game a million bucks just for the chance to play them? That's insane, especially when you cry to the media about how nobody wants to play you.
