Something to consider here...

How many of those kids are from the state of Alabama? If you take Barron, Julio, Dareus, and 'Dre (whom you've forgotten Matt) you're looking at four, first rounders, from the state.

On another note, which leads me to yet another note.

Dont'a is from Tennessee. Now, the Vols tried to get in on him late during the recruiting season but it ended up between us and the 'Dores. UT, didn't have a single player in the first round.

Trent is from Florida. LSU, UF, and Bama were the last schools in for his signature. Of note here? He didn't stick with his home state school, or any of his home state schools. Did you happen to see how many players came from the three major Florida schools that were selected yesterday?

When's the last time that happened?

I didn't forget Dre, wasn't he a 2009 recruit. That list is gonna be impressive as well.

Yeah, FSU, Miami, Florida, Ohio State, Texas were all missing 1st rounders. And good thing Iowa/Illinois/Wisconsin came through for the B1G, Boise State only got 2 in the 1st round.

2011 Draft
James Carpenter (Round 1, pick 25)

2012 Draft
Dre Kirkpatrick (Round 1, pick 17)
Trent Richardson (Round 1, pick 3)

2013 Draft
Nico Johnson
D.J. Fluker
Eddie Lacy
Ed Stinson
Darrington Sentimore (I know he isn't with us now)
Quinton Dial

I'm guessing Saban became complacent after his success with the 2008 class. The 2009 class only has five first rounders. :chat_swear:
