šŸˆ 16 semifinal games, 13 of those games have been decided by double figures, 12 games by at least 17 points.

Yes I am saying the players will not opt out IF they think they are playing for a chance for NC real or imagined. Hard for a player to opt out if their team is in the "playoffs".
It's a participation trophy given to players so they won't quit. Let that sink in.

Continually dropping basketball into the conversation and yet to tell us why it belongs. They are not comparable and trying to do so isn't intellectually honest.
But i see bball comparable....

All "major" sports expanded... to garner more interest and include more teams...

bowls are the ultimate "participation trophy".

I think i know why Bama fans arent interested in expansion....
Its an "exclusive club" right now... and that’s awesome ....
but it wont always be like that...

Oh I agree and I do not like it but that is where we are. The decision makers are watching what is going on and have to decide to either sit idle and do nothing or try and address some of these issues.

"I don't know that expanding ... if these are the best four teams and they played each other, I don't see the logic in it that if we had more teams there would be better games. I don't know how that adds up," said Saban, who has long been an advocate for the SEC playing nine league games instead of eight.

"Look, I'm not the one who needs to be deciding what the playoff needs to be," Saban said during his CFP virtual news conference. "There's a lot of good people out there that can make a decision as to what's best for college football. But the more we expand the playoff, the more we minimize the bowl games, the importance of bowl games, which I said when we went to [a four-team playoff]. So I don't think that's changed, and I also think it's come to fruition."

Also see 6 winners not ranked 1 or 2...6 of 16....

But whatever....everyone has their thoughts....
These are not thoughts. You're citing what's actually happened. Over 60% percent of the games are blowouts and you're wanting to add weaker teams in hopes of improving competition. Do you see why people are saying, "wait, what?" It's an age-old principle, when you water something down...

40% arent....
Both games this weekend were blowouts...

So does that mean go back to BCS and 2....o wait...some of them were blowouts....

Dont see what that has to do with expansion....stats ( ur thing) say some will be.....so what... some won't be... great!!!!!!!

Improving competition? Maybe not in finals ( like this year)... but provide some good semi's ( as in...meaningful games..lol....i knew you would love that)... upsets even.....the #3 n #4 teams have won....no reason #5,#6,#7, or even #8 couldnt......

And bowl games are already minimized....you dont think Peach, Fiesta, Sugar, Rose wouldnt have preferred a playoff game....

Versus calling truth to the stories. Calling a spade a spade has its intended consequences.

Sure adding more teams increases comeptition...but not with quality competition.

I want quality competition. The CFP hasn't regularly delivered quality competition in my opinion.
Quality competition has to come from other teams fielding better teams. Bama has raised the bar do we have to lower it to make the games more competitive or they have to up their game? Georgia is trying to but others need to do so also.
