🧑‍🍳 12 Steakhouses To Visit In Alabama per AL.com

Big Mike's sucks.

Which location did you eat? Don't hear that too often.

For me, I've really enjoyed Big Mike's (the original in Thomasville and more often, the one in Moundville). Diamond Jim's and Mrs. Donna's is also really good (their family is connected to Big Mike's). I don't eat there as much, but they are about to build one about 10 minutes from my house, so that's nice. Jesse's is good, but it's been a while since I've been there... and it's not really the steakhouse type vibes I care for. All Steaks is really good... and those little orange rolls... delicious. Also eaten at Briquette's in Spanish Fort. Maybe I picked a bad night (it was the night after Thanksgiving a couple years back, I remember because I was watching Bama play Ohio State in basketball on my phone at the table), but the steak was about as pleasing as the game was.

I saw one in (that place we don't like) going to Tuskegee VA. Before April and I could stop and try it out. It closed, you would think because of the football games it would thrived. I think it close within 6 months of opened.
I will say I never have eating at any of these places.

I'm from Tallahatta Springs about 10 miles outside Thomasville so tried that one twice. Tried the one in Moundville and it was just as bad. I would not return to any of them. Meat quality was worse than what I would buy at a grocery store, seasonings weren't for me, and none were cooked correctly. I don't get the hype.

Diamond Jim's tasted like drinking Dale's.

My wife had a very tough grilled chicken breast at the Thomasville location once... I think it was the first time we'd ever eaten there. That's the only time I can recall a bad experience for us. I always get the big ribeye and never had an issue with it. Cooked MR each time and it's tender. Their sides have been good too, but maybe I've been lucky. I'd go more, but Moundville is still about 30-40 minute drive and I just rarely drive more than 10-15 minutes for a meal unless I have other reasons to go.

You must've had a reason to go through thomasville because I can't think of a reason to go

Big Mike's: Yes, We go to the one in Orange Beach every year. Never been to the original in Thomasville, but the OB one has never let us down.

George's Steak Pit: Yes, One of our local favorites for sure.

Jesse's on The Bay: Yes, Fort Morgan, another every year staple for the Jam family. Best stone ground grits and also their raw oysters are some count.

All Steak: Yes, It was also a local eating staple when we lived down in the area. Still hit it from time to time when we meet my youngest halfway. (he lives in Hueytown).

Voyagers: Wife found this one this year as a possible new place to try this November.

Gonna put the 360 Grille in Florence on here too. 1855 Black Angus 28-day dry aged steaks. 🤤
