What he did there: Split playing time almost evenly with Steve Bartkowski, playing in all 22 games in 1972 and 1973, including a 66-0 loss to Bama in the 1973 season opener in Birmingham. A squad that also had two other future NFL greats. RB Chuck Muncie and WR Wesley Walker.
Ferragamo completed 125 of 253 attempts for 1654 yards and 11 TDs in his two years at California.
Where he went: Nebraska
What he did there: Would sit out 1974 while the guy he left behind at Cal, Steve Bartkowski would lead the Nation in completions and passing yards, becoming the first overall pick in the first round of the 1975 NFL draft by the Atlanta Falcons.
In 1975 and 1976, Ferragamo would throw for 3407 yards and 34 TDs becoming the 91st overall pick in the fourth round of the 1977 NFL draft by the Los Angeles Rams.
