šŸˆ šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø Dabo Swinney says on his call-in show Trevor Lawrence will travel with the team and be on the sideline Saturday.

What are they going to do? Put his ass in a bubble? Dumbasses!!

Definition : a state, period, or place of isolation in which people or animals that have arrived from elsewhere or been exposed to infectious or contagious disease are placed.
Where in the definition does it say he can travel with the team and be with them? Another NEVER DABO moment!!

I'm waiting to see if he backtracks on this. I'm not going to be reading news from around the sports world today ( 🐦 ) so that'll have to wait until tomorrow.

Cant make plays from sideline...
Another thought here.

If it were a coach who had tested positive would he be allowed to forgo their isolation rules and be on the sidelines? OK, what about a GA?

Now, consider this. If Sunshine is on the sidelines, is he going to be wearing a headset while talking with the offensive staff and DJU?

To me there's a lot of "square peg, round hole" here.

I think u on target. I just don't see how he travels with team.
And maybe ND should object.
And what good could he provide.

It's my understanding he is waiting to pass a cardiovascular test. COVID can damage the heart.
If he tested positive on Wednesday, which Dabo said he did, then he's got a 10 day period. That 10th day would be Saturday a day he's supposed to be in isolation. Then it would be onto the heart tests.

Below is the ACC protocol for COVID-19.

Pursuant to CDC guidance, a student-athlete who tests positive for COVID-19 shall be isolated for at least 10 days from the onset of symptoms/positive test and at least 1 day (i.e., 24 hours) has passed since recovery defined as resolution of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications and improvement of respiratory symptoms (e.g., cough, shortness of breath).
I'd rather him play against Notre Dame. But good lord, if they are going to throw these rules out daily and make such waves about what's going on at least follow their own words.

As a former QB, A LOT!!! Seeing coverages from an experience stand point, pointing out ā€œhot readsā€ on blitzes the DJU might not have ever seen due to lack of experience.
Understand that. But would think they have QB coach and OC for that.
but sure from a team mate of same position
Might listen a little closer???

but do u want ur available QB being that close to an infectious person

QB coach and/or OC see things differently from a guy that has been there and done that more recently. Coaches don't always have that feel for what's actually going on "on the field" whereas a player in that same position does. When Homer Smith was our OC, he used to put all of us QBs behind the play during 7v7 so we could see the field and see what the QB saw coverage wise. As Coach used to say, "you are a gunslinger from the Old West and you've got your 6 shooter strapped on your hip! When you see the receiver that you think the ball should go to, draw and fire! Be ready to explain why!" It helped me learn to read coverages and become a better coach down the road.

While Brandon Streeter has been on the field having Lawrence able to talk with DJU during the game about what he's seeing would provide the young kid a lot of help.
That's why I mentioned this. šŸ‘†

Tony Elliott is in the booth and it's Streeter who communicates everything on to the field. He's not alone on the sidelines sharing offensive schemes and corrections with Tyler Grisham. That's two guys with their eyes on the offense as a whole and the addition of Sunshine puts another set out there.

That's awesome. And from Homer Smith. Hard to beat that

He will be past the quarantine / isolation stage. There is "work in stage where he has to do a cardio test. Then practice at 50% then 75%. They are still worried about the long term cardiac issues post Covid. I'm saying its right or wrong, just what it is.
