🏈 Will Oakley breaks foot?

My wife is his friend on facebook and she noticed last night it had said he broke his foot. Now this morning, it's saying that he's in surgery.

A good friend of mine (also a occasional writer for this site) played ball with Oakley's dad...I've talked with him this morning and he didn't know about that. He's going to try to get in touch with Will's father this afternoon and I'll get back with details if they haven't broken (no pun intended) around the 'net by then.

Considering there are technically 28 bones in the foot that's a question that probably can't be answered.

If it is something like the sesamoid bone on the big toe this will hamper Will. If it is something as simple as Will getting his foot stepped on in skel drills it's not going to help his case as well.

Think it would lean more towards the conditioning and strength routines. We saw a lot of people get hurt because they were not building up those muscles that protect parts of the body that non athletic people do not use. This depends on the sport of course.

I know as a pitcher we worked hard on developing the muscles around my shoulder and keeping it stretched and lean while building it up. I know this is a bone( will Will) but the last coaching staff was obviously not on the up and up when it came to strength and conditioning. I think it showed with some last year as well. IMHO.

First let me state that I am fan of Will Oakley and hate to see him injured yet again. However, do you guys think it possible that the staff pushes for a medical disqualification for Will due to his history of injuries?

What matters is getting down to 85 scholarships and medical disqualifications helps that happen. What I am asking is will the coaching staff go in this direction. Not about Will's ability, effort, etc.
