I am very disappointed. Whole skit about Bama player (John Cena) doing "final" on a Banana. Very stereotypical of Dumb jock only getting to play in playoff against Washington only if he got an A+. So teachers assign his report to be about a Banana. Cena wears Bama jersey and teacher has face painted with Bama colors. They are wearing official Bama gear and everything. Not cool!

hate all you want, it's going to continue to happen as long as we keep winning.

like Coach Saban said, when you're at the top you have the bulls-eye on you and everyone is trying to knock you off. unfortunately, that means you're a target for everyone else, as well.

Football players and southerners in one shot. Pretty low hanging fruit.

And, aside from mockery/imitation being the the sincerest forms of flattery... yada... yada...yada...

When is the last time a major CFB program was parodied on SNL or any other major national show?

Bama keeps building it's national brand.

I haven't watched any SNL for years and years. I wouldn't have known about this skit if I didn't see it posted on fb this morning (at least ten different posts). I thought it was pretty good. Yes, Virginia, even in satire, there's some truth. For every Greg McElroy or Barrett Jones, there are about ten others who would probably fit this stereotype pretty well...Here AND at every other major program. Dollar signs always trump principles.

It's been hard to watch SNL since the original cast started leaving for the movies . Other than the occasional Mike Myers or will Ferrell skit , their writers try to push their agenda what ever it is .. now it's straight liberalism. Sads

This, and I agree with all the other sentiments about SNL. Their only funny person still there is Keenan. Seth Myers/Amy Pohler/Tina Fey/Jimmy Fallon were the last funny cast, and Keenan was part of that.

Funniest in the 90s, still kinda funny in the early 2000s despite their liberal lean. Now it's just straight leftism.

That said, this skit was pretty funny.

I think it was more of a shot at sports overall in my opinion. I mean its known that jocks get a lot of advantages in school/ life that everyone else may not. And I have to say not all athletes fit in that stereotype. We all have known the guy that we wondered how he graduated or even got into a college. Oh well he's a highly rated football or basketball player so there you go.

I worked with a guy that played football at UNC and he had one of those African Studies degrees they got busted for recently. He got the job at our company because his mom was the VP's admin. I never saw him do anything productive and eventually they asked him to move on after his mom left the company. Look at how some of these professional athletes act and get into trouble. No one has ever told them no or allowed them to fail. Sure they work hard on the field and to improve their game but not their maturity and intellectual sides.
