🏈 What Saban era players end up in HOF

Julio Jones. Other than him Lacy is the only one is really really shines right now and its hard for a RB like Lacy to stay healthy. Don't get me wrong, lots of guys are making names for themselves, HaHa, Hightower, Fluke and Warmack, CJ but not at a HOF level just yet.

It's early, but the only one putting up numbers and recognition that would generate a viable HOF candidacy right now is Julio. He's had two 1,000 yard receiving years so far, but to compare that total with the last two WR inductees Tim Brown (nine thousand yard seasons) and Cris Carter (eight) tells you just how long he'd have to stay healthy. Julio's 1,593 yards last year eclipsed both Brown (1,408 yards) and Carter's (1,371) career season highs.

Lacy could be durable enough to put together a HOF-worthy career after a great start with two 1,000 yard seasons and good receiving numbers, but again incredibly early. Jerome Bettis had 1,000 yard seasons in eight of his thirteen years in the league (very little receiving) and was a second ballot (at least) HOF inductee. Curtis Martin reeled off 10 straight 1,000 yard seasons in his 11 year career (and just one year over 500 yards receiving).

Coop. He was better than Julio in college and I expect the same at the next level. Just a matter of having a competent QB for the better part of his career.

You may be right, but he hasn't played a down yet. I don't think it will be the case, but sometimes college doesn't translate well into NFL success. If you'd asked me who would have the most yards rushing after their first two years in the league between Trent, Ingram and Lacy, I would've answered in that order - the exact opposite of what happened.

Julio is the best receiver in the NFL. Coop hasn't caught a pass. That's a bold forecast. Julio caught passes from JPW and GMac. Coop had the most prolific passer in Bama history slinging it his way. And an OC that wasn't afraid to single him out to hide Blake's weakness at QB. Julio is a GREAT receiver. Let's just hide and watch the Coop was better than Julio talk.

Fuuuuck that. This is the internet... I ain't hiding shit.

Are you calling Blake or AJ the most prolific passer in Bama history? Statistically speaking, if you're going by season, I guess you're referring to Blake... Who's weaknesses were hidden well throwing to the double teamed guy every play. Worked out aight.

Some things translate into the NFL, some don't. Trent bullying people in college didn't translate. Coop's strengths will translate. I have absolutely no hesitation saying that Coop was a better WR in college than Julio. When it comes to running routes, hands, change of speed, IMO Coop was better at all of those. The dude will not stop working either. Julio is a great WR no doubt about it... But I think Coop would be putting up the same #'s under the same circumstances. There's room for 2 WR's in the HOF tho...

Agreed with there's room for 2 WRs in the HOF. But come back when Coop leads the Conference in Receiving yards or leads the NFL in yards per game. Bc that's what Julio did on an awful team last season.

I honestly would have predicted CBEL>HTWMI>MFBATR. Always was of the opinion that Lacy was the best fit for the NFL of the three.

As of today my picks would be:

1) Julio Jones
2) Eddie Lacy
3) One of the many 1st round NFL lineman

Ingram needs to get traded to a different team, Trent can't see the forest for the trees, Cooper has only played in a single preseason game, the lineman have to step up their game and play a very long time.

Just to be funny...
1) Coker
2) Pineiro

Asking the question a different way, does Saban actually have anyone in the HOF that he's coached during their college years? (or NFL years)

This is how I saw it too. Lacy went to the best possible place. Trent was the focus of that Browns offense and they road him into the dirt with crap players around him. Ingram was in a pass happy offense that used 4 RBs... he was only getting 7-9 carries a game and each time it was between the tackles.

I do expect Ingram to have a solid year.... over 1000 rushing, even with Spiller and Rhobinson stealing touches.

I don't think so. I just googled and the only related article mentioned Flozell Adams as being Saban's most notable player in the NFL and the article stated specifically that is was "as of now" because there were many Bama players that may end up in the Hall.
