Imagine if he'd been wearing orange.

Keiti Iakopo, Defensive Tackle (Junior college transfer - Sophomore) : “I can see why Alabama is Alabama. Then again, they’re human too. We should have played a lot better. It was crazy, I’ve never been booed so loud in my life. I got chills, it was cool - it was like something from a movie.”

Derrion Grim, Wide Receiver (Junior college transfer - Sophomore): “That was the first time I ever got booed coming out of the tunnel. I was smiling super hard, but they were really great fans. Afterword, they all said great job. I know it was just for us to throw us off. At the end of the game they were great.”
Fresno State Freshmen Describe First Road Game at Alabama

I call it pageantry.

It made these guys laugh and enjoy the experience. Not many West Coast folks get to come play inside Bryant-Denny, and they were some of the lucky few. They even said it was all gravy after the game, so that's all that matters is that they experienced something not many get to and enjoyed every minute of it.

And now California law has made a return trip for Fresno impossible. So, I hope they enjoyed all aspects of the journey. The way it goes in politics, I'm sure the southeast states included in their boycott will be more than happy to reciprocate in kind.

Wish Saban would tell fans not to "BOO" opponents
......
He has many times.

He gave aTm accolades 2 years ago when we traveled there and he told the media/fans that there was not one BOO when UA ran out on to the field.

I too wish we wouldn't boo the lesser opponents. I have no problem with all the big rivals, but the rooty-poot teams that really are there for a pay-day, there is no need in that IMO.

Sort of funny, in a sense, this booing thing people like/dislike. Hell, if we go back to the sixth century it was considered a civic duty.

I guess booing is the first time politics and sports became intertwined? :sarcasm:

Yea it sounded like they embraced it, didn't sound like any butt hurt occurred. Title is misleading

He may have been looking at my "Bless his heart" comment which was meant in jest with a heavy dose of sarcasm.

But in sarcasm, doesn't that mean something snarky? You kind of turned me around there with your explanation. The phrase technically means something positive, but lately has been used as a negative term towards another. For some reason people in Texas think they own the phrase.

It carries two distinct definitions depending on where you are: a sincere expression of sympathy or genuine concern or as a bit of an insult.

You may recall when Nikki Haley said that to Trump last year...most covering the event considered it as a "lady like insult" in true Southern form.

Exactly, and I agree with that. I guess I read the title and thought it was going to be more of a remark on how rude our fans were as well.

Odd thing is...I've talked with a half a dozen or so people that attended the game and they didn't notice the boos.

His comment is entertaining though...at least to me.

I prefer the standing ovation the Penn State team was given in 1990 when they entered the field at BDS for the last game in the 10 year series.
