I've got a friend who is in his family...that's how I originally learned about this last week. I've asked about those details, and should have them soon. If I don't get those here immediately (crazy, crazy day at work) he'll be posting that information over on our partner site, SECBlitz.com, on the Alabama section. I've got a friend who is in his family...that's how I originally learned about this last week. I've asked about those details, and should have them soon. OK, a little background on him...I hope to talk with him in the next couple of days...tracking down his phone number now. Correction on one thing, it's not family, it's his old college roommate.

Married, just had twins...what I haven't been able to track down is he's been on the road lately in what is suspected a type of recruiting/evaluating mode.

Watching the number of coaches who have been brought in in "off the field of play" roles has it dawned on you how much this staff looks like a staff you would find in the NFL?

To say the least, any area you can think of when it comes to the student athlete is being covered.

Many speculate that Petito has NFL written all over him in the future.

I think I read where he was the first white assistant at Grambling in like 20 years or something, but that may be wrong. I'd never heard of him until Terry mentioned him a few days ago.

i'm just wondering where all this money is coming from. people were wondering how UA could afford Saban's salary when it became known, and the staff has swelled considerably since then. is Saban paying some of these guys out of his own salary, or should we assume that the UA football budget is getting bigger with each new hire?

You have to remember that a small portion of Saban's contract comes from UA Ath. funds.

Things like shoe and uniform endorsements, booster donations, there's a laundry list.
