Yea they have been calling it all season :a:. I think I've heard a few other teams have an Alabama call as well.

I saw an interview awhile back and there were a couple of coaches saying they're calls that Alabama uses that we're talked about with Saban at one of his clinics when the NFL coaches and Saban had some alone time

Pretty sure its just a check, listen and you'll hear him yell "GEORGIA... GEORGIA..." (or another state) and then a number. Matt Ryan does the same thing for ATL, sure others do it too.

When Saban was at LSU their defensive calls were named by states. I'm sure their Mississippi call wasn't meant as a compliment.

Mississippi is more efficient than "fetal position". One syllable shorter.

A Bama player mentioned their blitz packages were named after states, but that they ran out of states. Perhaps you'll hear a "Puerto Rico" or "American Samoa" or "D.C." call in there.

Brady's Alabama checks were very clear on yesterday's broadcast.

We used teams and mascots for our checks when I coached high school. Teams were to the right and the ,ascot went left.
