Appearing on The Paul Finebaum Show, Sheridan declared Alabama an early four-point favorite in this year’s Iron Bowl. Then, he put the pressure on Malzahn.

According to Sheridan, the fifth-year head coach will lose his job if he doesn’t beat the Crimson Tide. Malzahn has lost three straight against his arch-rival since winning the “Kick Six” game in 2013.

In addition to losing three in a row to ‘Bama, Malzahn only has a 23-16 overall record in the last three seasons.

The last Iron Bowl coach to lose four in a row to his rival? Alabama’s Mike Shula from 2003-06. Shula got fired, but, then again, he didn’t have nearly the resume of Malzahn.

If the barners were 10-2 or 11-1, I doubt they do that. It's the overall record that has put gus on the clock. If they look bad with their latest QB savier, then no hope for the HC.

Shula was 22-14 his last three years at Alabama. I think he compares very favorably with Malzahn's 23-16 and Shula did that on full scale probation recovery.. not at full strength like Malzahn and the Boogs..lol

That is soo funny that he is the guy that Auburn thinks is better than Saban and he's barely as good as Shula when Shula was handcuffed by probation!! LOL!!

I heard Fowler on "The Game" talking about this Friday. He was wearing them out.

This reminds me a lot of Bowden's last year or two at FSU. As great a speaker as Bobby Bowden is, he had a hard time filling a room for their "Big Chief" meetings. That spelled the end of the era for him.

The pattern for Mahlzahn of not being able to develop QB's the past 3 years spells the end of an era, IMO. Too much hype and not enough results between JJ, JFIII, and having to rely on White.

With the new OC, it still remains to be seen if Gus will turn loose of the reins and allow him to run a pass happy offense. Gus has lived and died by the RPO. If he is hell bent on making Stidham run........I believe it will be a long season for the boogs.
