Tuscaloosa’s Druid City Brewing has become famous for its chalk murals. I can’t say if the murals are more famous than the beer, though being that Druid City is, in fact, a brewery, hopefully the answer is that they are not.
In any case, Druid City has put together some excellent chalk murals in the past depicting former LSU coach Les Miles , Arkansas coach Bret Bielemaand one with literally every other SEC coach .
Being drawn has sort of become a badge of honor in its own way, so new Alabama athletic director Greg Byrne should be humbled to know he’s the newest, um, “target” for Druid City’s latest creation featuring a shoutout to Outkast’s “Stankonia.” The beer Druid City is promoting? Tidekonia, of course.
At least Byrne, who replaces Bill Battle, gets to share his mural with Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban for the music reference. There are worse things in this world than being referenced to Outkast.
