Carl Engstrom had a few blocked shots and 2 points, Rodney Cooper 16 points. Trevor Lacey had a impressive career high 23 points, including 5-5 from beyond the ark. Alabama also was 9-19 from 3 point range ( far better than the Friday night performance, when Alabama sank 6-21 shots). Releford had 15 points I think (too lazy too look back up). Still searching for that inside presence, Pollard still adjusting to the college level, had a very good game defensively though.

The team is looking more explosive though, got a very good feeling for Alabama basketball this year

We'll have to open it up more then, last year we faced a similar team in Georgetown and hung in there with them for the most part...Engstrom, Gueye, and Jacobs will have to be a big factor in this.

We are still settling into our roles. Last year we ran the offense through Green (when he was available) and this year we have to find something different. There is no doubt that Pollard is a tremendous tallent, but so far he is playing like you'd expect a freshman to play.

This year's outfit seems to be more guard oriented, but that is not a bad thing. South Dakota State defended us much as several teams did a year ago, a man to man, but with every defender with at least one foot inside the arc. This caused us trouble in feeding the low post. If Cooper and Lacey keep up their early pace (they were both over 40% from outside the arc in high school) the other guys will have to come out and play them, opening up the passing lanes.

We are a work in progress. I caught a good bit of Georgia vs Youngstown State last night, and the dawgs looked pretty bad.

Agreed, still developing team chemsitry, but we're in the right direction.

Dawgs look like they did last year, South Carolina too...UK struggled against Maryland last Friday (many believe Maryland is a NIT team), will be interesting to see how they fair against Duke tonight.
