💬 Things you DON'T bring up during the season.

Why change uniforms. It is not who we are. We just need to play ball and kick some ass. Allbarn this year is going to play lights out. What have they got to loose. I always hate this kind of lop sided season. They don't have the horsepower this year, but we need to pay attention to how hard MState will play. They can usually rough us up pretty good. Glad we have a cupcake before Allbarn.

Let me get a riot shield....standby....
Ok, now that I am safely covered.... I love Alabama's classic uniform look. I will say this though... I am old enough to remember the white helmets and still consider them to be ok in my book. I wouldn't want to see them become a staple or anything, but there are 2 reasons I would like to see us use them every now and then. 1.) For nostalgia. It is part of our history and everybody loves a novelty, throwback type of game. 2.) Over the years I have heard a lot of these young recruits and players make remarks about the Oregon, Okie State, Maryland, West Virginia, etc special uniforms. They all just mention how fun it is. If I were 18 years old, it might look fun to me too. This would give us a way to be in on that without really changing anything. That's just my .02..... now, I am covered....fire away. :)

The thought crosses my mind ...

This past weekend Ohio State decided to go with black uniforms. They already have an iconic look now, so why the change? Did they get any benefit from those? I can't say one way or another.

I do know I saw more than a few remark they didn't recognize Ohio State on TV when they were flipping through channels because of their uniform choice.

If Bama were to go with white helmets for a day, how many people across the college football landscape would recognize "It's Bama?"

They have been doing a lot of this lately, maybe once a year for the past five years. They like going old school with the curly numbers, matte helmets, and these as well. Ohio State is just goof these days.

I remember when Perkins brought them back. The game was with Penn. St and I just knew I was going to see Bama in the white helmet! Then just before going to Penn. St to play the game, Coach said we will be wearing our Crimson helmet, I don't want any mistake in our white with Penn. St helmet. I do remember seeing them in the white helmet later that year!
