He clearly got up and talked shit in the defenders face. All he had to do was direct his "look at me" moment away from the defender or to his teammates... But he preferred to talk shit. So he got the flag.

How's what he's doing any different than a choreographed end zone dance? Every element you see here is found there except one thing—the endzone dances are commercial material: something they're using to promote the league.

How is it different than an endzone dance? An endzone dance isn't in the face or directed at the opponent.

And like I've said previously - I'm not good with anything directed at the opponent. On a personal level I don't like players bringing attention towards themselves... Is that a penalty, I don't know? Because the plays YOU'VE HIGHLIGHTED, are players clearly getting in the face of the opponent after the play.

Why is it so hard for you to not understand why I see that as unnecessary? I've stated it's due to the interaction with the opponent, after the play. You'd have to be blind to not acknowledge that happened. That's not being a protagonist, it's just supporting a current rule that's being enforced instead of complaining about it.

That's where I see you're missing the point. These instances are adreninaline infused, no? Have you ever seen someone flexing get an opponent fired up to the point we saw flags of an unsportsmanlike type? I haven't.

A few things I see for certain. One, while he was standing beside him he certainly wasn't "in his face." Secondly, we don't know what was said. Thirdly, it's what I consider legislating enthusiam out of the game. The guy here just carried, practically, the entire defense and we expect him to control those reactions when it's that adrenanline drive that enables guys to make plays like this.

There's no harm here other than what I see to be a bunch of suits wondered about feelings: on a football field.

Nice work!! I can appreciate your consistency....

To me, it's as simple as flexing towards your teammate instead of the opponent. Get hyped and slap your teammate on the helmet instead of the opponent. Talk your shit to get hyped to the camera or your OL instead of the opponent. I like a general respect for the game and your opponent, and believe that toughness and competition is evaluated during the play, not after... And have no problem with the rules reflecting those values.
