*** Junior tailback Terry Grant is still a member of Alabama's program despite rumors he would transfer after the Sugar Bowl.

"He's still here," Saban said. "He's done a great job in the offseason program. We'd like to find a role for him. He's done a really good job in everything he's done and we're hopeful that he'll have a great spring."

Easy, get him into the slot. Get him returning kicks with Air Javy. Punt returns when AJ isn't in if you're not going to let him run the ball. Trent & Mark are both bruising runners. Grant should be able to be brought in to run the ball as a change of pace.

I agree with you on the aspect of him being on special teams, but not so much being a starting RB again. Our offense,IMO, has turned into a more north/south running style. Terry could see time, but not as much as he got in the 07 season. Then again, that's just a 20 year old college student's opinion.

I've said all along that he needs to make the move to slot receiver if he expects to get some touches on offense. The the big bruising backs and the north/south style that CNS wants and desires, TG gets lost in the shuffle.

With his speed a slot receiver may be a great move. The only thing that worries me their is his height. He showed how dangerous he could be catching the ball out of the backfield last year in the spring game.

I think you can negate the height factor if you use him with slip screens and "rub" routes where height is not an issue. The mere fact of placing him in the slot with a bigger and slower LB or SS puts the D at the disadvantage.

Height as a reciever in college football doesn't matter much IMO. Look at Percy Harvin he isn't Julio tall or anything and he's made a pretty good name for himself.

I dont think they're going to do much with Grant. They had all of last year and what did the coaching staff do with him??
