Bad weather conditions, may have tried to stop but couldn't. All indications are it was just a horrific accident of the worst possible luck. Despite no apparent fault, it still must be soul-crushing for Boeheim. Prayers to the deceased pedestrian'd family, and Boeheim and his family as well...

 
Hope it was purely accidental and no alcohol involved, on his part. I have hit a young teen pedestrian, who was crossing at the wrong part of the road. I was in the far right, turn only lane, with nobody in front of me, the two lanes to my left were stopped, waiting on the light to change. He just ran between the stopped vehicles and I clipped his head with my side mirror. Scared me to death, thought I might have killed the kid, his head was bleeding pretty good. Fortunate for him, the primary fire station for Anniston was right there, across the field and the hospital was a block away. He just ended up with stitches and a mild concussion. Of course, his crackhead mother tried to sue but it got thrown out immediately because of the police report.

His BAC was 0.0 and it was in the middle of the interstate where the other car had broke down. The guy was walking on the interstate.

Geez, man. That's crazy.
 
I friend of mine was killed about 11 years ago off 459 between Irondale and Trussville. He had a friend call him early one morning due to some car problems. My friend parked on one side of 459 and ran across to help. I think on his way back across 459 he was hit and killed. Had a wife and kids. Sucks.
