🏈 Sunseri'sn name linked to S. Carolina DC search

FWIW, web site Football Rumor Mill noted Coach Sunseri's name among the short list cited as potentials to replace Coach Johnson as the Defensive Coordinator in Columbia. Joining him are one of the Stoops brothers
and Ron Zook.

Coach Sunseri has both a National Championship Game to win and a certain job next season, so we should be able to breathe easy for a while.

It'd be an interesting hire. I don't think he pulls Stoops to Colombia. We are still after FSU's Stoops and will spend more than USCe. Zook would be interesting. I hadn't thought about him as a DC candidate but he's a hell of a recruiter.

I've found myself asking "who" in response to hearing some of the HC names being announced at hirings around the country. HC picking look slim. I would think that Ron Zook could land a HC gig somewhere, at least at someplace that might visit Tuscaloosa for Homecoming.

Don't forget Zook was the DC at Florida when Spurrier hired Bob Stoops from Kansas to come in during the mid 90's. Zook took a demotion to Special Teams coach for one year and then headed to the NFL (Saints, I think) before coming back as the HC at Florida. Would not be a far stretch to have Zook come and work for the Ol Ball Coach again. I would say that it would be a lack-luster hire.

I would like to know how many times Spurrier has called Brother Oliver and tried to hire him over the past few weeks.
