Well for once the University got it right. There was alot of anger over how the SEC tickets were handle for the students but they got it right this time. First they did a 20% Grad and 80% undergrad slipt. That way not just Grad students got tickets. Also you could only buy one instead of two. Plus they dont give you a ticket, you pick the ticket up like a few hours before kickoff at the Super Dome.

So what did all this do for the students. Everyone who put their name on the list to get a ticket got one. Goes to show you how many people were just doing it to sell the tickets...

As I stated last week. Make the tickets harder to get and the probability people will get them just to resell will reduce dramatically.

Can you share with us all the actual number of tickets they made available to students? Interested in seeing if this number is greater, in absolute or relative percentage, to the number from the SECCG - for as I recall one of the outrages was that students were not given enough tickets regardless of the distribution process.

If anybody has one or two extra, lemme know. I'm only 80 miles from N.O. Wouldn't even have to spend the night. :D

Im not sure of the number. But the buzz going around campus is that the players and the coaches wanted the students to have more tickets for this game. They said we were at all the games and were by far the loudest section in the stadium and we should have the chance to go if we wanted.

Of course just a rumor.

Duh. Drunk 18-21 year olds tend to be louder than blue-haired Grandmothers. I suspect that it had less to do with that and more to do with the fact that Bowls are looked at as Bonuses/Rewards.

With the University's obligation to the TidePride members satisfied (i.e. season ticket purchased, season tickets delivered), the bowl is a wonderful chance to treat the newest generation of the Bama Family to something special (loud and drunk or otherwise). I love the idea. Have a great time. Cheer like only students can, and come back safe.

Man no one I know is going, apparently I'm the only one who signed up. My parents said I couldn't go to NO by myself either. I'm gonna be pissed if I got a ticekt, but cant go. Thats what sucks about being friends with nerds who don't care about football.

This was the breakdown:

Donors received 57 percent of tickets (9,975), while students get the next-largest total of 12 percent (2,100). Lettermen receive 10 percent (1,750), faculty and staff receive 5 percent (875) and 2,600 are designated for internal use such as players, coaches, etc.

the 2,100 student tickets is a 900 ticket increase from the 1,200 for the SEC CG.
