I've read that 10 players have left the fighting roosters since the end of the 2014 season. A poster on the SC forum said they will have 40 players who have not played a down. Everyone over there, on the SC forum, is asking what's going on in the Gamecock nation but no one has any real answer.

@TerryP, any idea?

Jumping ship before it sinks :D

Spurriers comments over the last few years...priceless. Had he been minding his own business maybe things would have turned out differently, but no, he'd rather talk shit about other schools.

@Bamabww If you were to put 10 in a room and ask their opinions you'd find the first five disagree, the second five side with something one of the first five said because they couldn't think of anything better to say.

Based on what I've heard they are right at the 85 number, but their numbers are strange. Double digits at WR with three quarters RS or true frosh. Nothing to speak of when it comes to TE and that's with four on scholarship.

I'm curious if they stick with the 3-4 base on defense. I think the number mentioned was eight on scholarship though I don't know the breakdown from ILB to OLB.

It's a weird roster; one I'd call mismanaged.

Wayne, here's something to chew on.

We've had discussions here—not to the degree some other schools' fans are having—on QB development and evaluation. I've always had a bit of a snide question in those threads, "who do you think is the best QB coach in the SEC." The vast majority have always sided with Spurrier.

A conversation led to QB's in Columbia and this came up again. I don't know if you caught it or not, but going into spring camp they are looking at two QB's leading the pack for the starting role; Conner Mitch or Perry Orth. One of these guys is on scholly, the other a walk-on.

What does that say about evaluation on the recruiting trail or development of the position when they join the team?

This from a SC fan on an SEC board:

Roberts left because of playing time.
Rory Anderson is going pro.
Kaiwan Lewis left because he and the LB coach don't see eye to eye.
Mason Harris left because he was an undersized DE and was not going to have a place on the depth chart with the new DL class coming in.
Deon Green left for playing time.
Shaq Roland left because he is lazy and needs an attitude adjustment.
KJ Brent left because of Junior.
Gerald Turner left because I believe he was moved to FB and he didn't agree.
Na'Ty Rodgers left because of attitude and work ethic.
Drew Owens left because of playing time.
Mike Davis is going pro.
McClain was dismissed from the team.
Whitehurst, Washington and Cimaglia are all walk-ons so who really cares?
