šŸˆ So does anyone else notice a subtlety in McElroys throws?

I have been disecting all his passes pretty closely since A-day, and especially after last game something jumps out at me. Danielson made it apparent to me after the 80 yard pass to Maze.

Danielson said only an imperfect throw like that couldve been caught with that coverage, the "bad" throw allowed Maze to juke the DB and run to the endzone.

He also did something similar with Hanks. He underthrew him and it was caught, but the DB was in good position, though he wasnt ready for an underthrown ball. Hanks stopped to catch the ball while the corner outran the ball and slipped and fell trying to get back. If Hanks lands on his feet, thats a TD.

On many throws he puts the ball in a position where the one catching it is able to make some sort of play in a fluid motion.

When his throws need to be on the money, they usually are.

So it occurs to me he is visualizing the entire play and taking that into account when he throws past the LOS instead of worrying about just completing the pass.

I wouldnt doubt he has photographic memory, and its one of the few times ive seen it used so effectively in football.

i think mcelroy is one of the best qb's i have ever seen.. i'm starting to worry that he might enter the draft early..

he is the real deal... the perfect mix of brains, accuracy, and leadership..

the reason that julio is not catching as many balls is because mac will not throw into coverage.. what can anyone say?.. it's great football.. the kind that gets you to pasedina..

Scouts usually favor raw abilities and not intangibles for whatever reason. He might make it to 2nd-4th round status if he continues with his good play(signs point to yes)

But I imagine he stays the extra year to avoid being seen as a one-year-wonder player. Teams dont tend to take a chance on them until the later rounds.

That and I wonder if he wants to go for his masters first.

EDIT: Oh and when I was younger, I used to do the thing with visualization and photographic memory with pitch recognition in baseball. Id take two quick "photos", one after release and the other about 1/3 of the way to the plate, and visualize ball path and speed. As such I was hard to strike out.

I really like everything McElroy is doing so far. He has been confident, accurate and smart with the ball. He spreads the ball around and keeps the secondary guessing the whole time.

I feel like his ability to hit multiple receivers will eventually loosen up the double teaming of Julio and allow #8 to get a few more catches as well.

I do like the fact that McElroy is NOT keying on Julio every play and forcing the ball into coverage. That was the norm in years past with previous QBs.

the best thing i have seen was him getting us off the 1 foot line.. he has great control of the game.. remember seeing how anxious he was watching the clock tick at the end of the first half.. not sure what the deal was, but mac was deffinately in the game.. you don't see guys like this very often.
