I read folks saying it was a blindside hit. It was, and would have been illegal if he were not carrying the ball. But it is perfectly legal to tackle someone with the ball from the blindside. In Taekwondo they teach you to strike through the target, not to the target. That was a Taekwondo tackle. He tackled all the way through him.
