Prior to cutting the cord last year I had DirecTV...I have no idea :D.

Looking over the twitter feed, nothing about SC mentioned, ODD.

PS. Sling TV is awesome. I cut the cord a long time ago and found sling tv for my sports stuff. ESPN, espn2, espnu, SEC network along with a bunch morecosts me $24 per month. That is all I care to watch anyway. I use a digital HD antenna for local channels and I pretty much get what I need.

I have thought about that. I read many negative reviews about Sling TV, with most saying that bandwidth was bad and streaming was unreliable. Have you had any problems with bandwidth? Who is your ISP, if you don't mind me asking. Would love to drop Direct TV. Thanks.

It definately isn't perfect picture all the time but it is fine. Still works when it rains..lol I actually have Spectrum internet the hi speed variety because I have to download large files for work but my buddy has att U-verse and it works fine at his house too. If you have too many devices on it can slow down and may cause the picture to break up a few times but overall it still works great.

We get all the sports channels, all the local channels, HGTV, AMC, TNT,TBS and all the stuff my wife likes to watch with little to no commercials except station promos.

I've heard some say they had buffing issues but not "most." I get about 20 Mbps in my area and that seems to be plenty. Some also with buffing issues said they thought their TV was too far from their wifi router and moved the router closer and got better performance. Some have used a direct ethernet cord to Roku or whatever device you use and that helped as well. But like Destiny mentioned, for the price and sports package, Sling is the bomb. Said adios to DirecTV.

Just for info, the "Vue" has got a bigger sports and TV package that I'm looking at for about 34 bucks/month. It sync's with my roku now. What's interesting to me is that they say it streams on multiple TV's for the same price and can cloud DVR, so I'm going to investigate. I guess "live" internet TV is here.

We cut the cord this year. Got Rokus, a digital antennae, and PlayStation Vue. No PlayStation needed. Love it. Vue has like 55 good channels including a few ESPNs. Digital antennae gets us a better HD image than Dish did, and it's free now. No regrets whatsoever. If we miss something one night, we can go back and watch on VUE except for CBS. Don't feel as tied to the DVR as I once was. We'll see how football season goes, but with live ESPN and all the networks, we should be ok. I never got SEC network before anyway.

That's what I did prior to football season last year, Sling TV + HD antenna. I have a small spare TV that I have going with local channels, my living room tv with local channels, and I'll have something on my laptop playing. Been thinking about getting a small projector to display the laptop image onto a wall. Things are super cheap and portable these days.

I have a hacked amazon fire stick.....I'm off today so I'll see what the buzz is. I'm out here in southern California, so I get the USC talk all the time on the streets and at work. I just reply with a hearty ROLL TIDE

Kodi? I was out in Woodland Hills last week for business, can't say that I recall hearing anything from an SC fan (other than a conversation I brought up with a guy at work).

Sling has the SEC network and ESPU which is why I went that way. I get pretty much all the games I care about. Tell me how the experience with VUE is but I would miss sec network.. probably my favorite channel

Vue Access Slim Plan ($29.99/month)

ABC (on demand nationwide), FOX (on demand nationwide), NBC (on demand nationwide), AMC, BET, Bravo, Cartoon Network, CNBC, CNN, Comedy Central, E!,Food Network, HGTV, FOX News, MTV, Nickelodeon, TNT, USA, TBS, and several more. In total it amounts to about 55+ channels.
Core Slim Plan ($34.99/month) THIS IS THE ONE YOU NEED!

The Core channel plan markets itself on the ability to add local sports networks to your list of channels. There are about 70+ channels overall and the list includes additional channels like the Golf Channel and IFC, if you pay the extra $5 per month. One of the constant concerns with cable cutters is the limited options to watch live sports events. PlayStation Vue’s Core package answers these concerns, especially with the ability to watch local sports.
Elite Slim Plan ($44.99/month)

The Elite package features 100+ channels and features PlayStation Vue’s standalone channels. The two standalone services are Epix Hits, which features popular movies, comedy specials and documentaries, and Machinima, which Sony says is the headquarters for all things gaming including original series, news, and high-quality gameplay.

DVR service and 5 - Multi-stream has me thinking this way next time.

So what's this KODI you speak of that pipes in all this stuff free?! I need one to add to my options.

It is a program that you can download and install on any device you want. My wife has it on her desktop in the living room hooked up to our TV. You can also put it on your phone. It has addons you install to stream your movies and shows. You can get it on Google Play Store or the Kodi.tv website.

SlingTV isn't great in itself for streaming live sports. Throunh SlingTV directly, sports were basically unwatchable. However, it provides a login to ESPN's own streaming service which was, for the most part, fine.

I tried Sling last year. But, it was eating up my bandwidth big time. I'm on HughesNet, I get 20 gigabytes a month, I pay extra for that much. I was getting a lot of buffing too. I live in the country too.
:D
