So do you think an AD should get a bonus because of an individual sport? What about a team sport?

I'm mixed, I think the AD should get incentives based on academic performance and then based on number of teams in post season, conference wins, etc.

About a year and a half ago I got caught up looking at Jeff Long, AD for UArk, and his contract. Before he signed his extension the original contract carried so many incentives that it shocked me a bit.

His were divided into two different levels. As I recall, primary one had seven goals and if he reached four of them the first amount kicked in. There was a second level which included things like winning the SEC (football, M's and W's basketball, etc.)

That first level had APR and Grad rate built in as well as post-season appearances—one for football, one for basketball, etc. There was a clause where one achievement was "good citizenship."

According to his contract, he gets the following bonuses. Kinda weird that he only gets $50k towards strategic goals...seems like that is where they'd lump in most of the money.

1) $100k for football making BCS bowl, $30k for post season bowl.
2) $15k for womens basketball winning SEC title, sec championship, or makes tourney.
3) $25k for mens basketball making tourney.
4) $25k for womens basketball making final four.
5) $25k for mens basketball making final four.
6) $50k for goals towards strategic objectives.
7) $50k longevity incentive each year.
