No, there are deep channels dredged in it, but there are vast parts that are shallow. Most of the bay is 10 feet deep or less. Very shallow at Fairhope, so much so that there was a narrow gauge railroad that ran along the coast to the south beyond Point Clear as a supply landing. The public walkway that runs south of the Grand Hotel along the sand and live oaks is a remnant right of way of the line. If you ever go to the Grand Hotel, take that walk or borrow a bicycle from the hotel. It truly is a unique walk, with monstrous live oaks growing on the beach, stately homes, and you strolling between their backyards and their docks.
You can catch a lighthouse in parts of the video. One astute Youtube commenter said that it's the Sand Island Lighthouse, which would indicate a Fort Morgan filming locale.
