Didn't look towards Smith until throw but if you watch closely, he did take a peek by just moving his eyes. He kept the safety off of his target but still looked to see if the play was there.
But I stand by the idea that playing Jalen as well would also open up some killer passing situations.
Can't help but be excited about the potential to spread the ball around with Tua though... The amount of dudes that caught passes in 1 half with him was impressive

I really hope they use Jalen in the backfield or in the slot. He'd be a great weapon, and he already has great rapport with the offense (especially Tua).

I just don't see it. He's just a different type of athlete... More under control than explsosive but once he gets up to speed he's awesome at alluding hits and big contact.
He needs to be at QB. If Saban takes the plunge of playing both, he could have the potential to always use the hotter hand in crunch time. And if there's 1 coach and 1 players who have the cache to make it work with his team its these guys.
Just the threat of a down field passing game opens up the run. This is something that Jalen has not at this point provided. Next year if Jalen and Tua both are interchanged, defenses will not know what to look for, run or pass with Tua playing, but if Jalen is playing defenses will be shading and looking for the run first mindset of Jalen, because they wont believe he can beat them with his limited passing ability.
You guys need to listen to Trent Dilfer's commentary about this play on the Rich Gannon Radio show. Tua was actually actually coached this by them at the Elite 11. It's jaw dropping.

I dont care who wins the job, I want to see them in the backfield together some. Defensive coordinators will have strokes trying to figure what the hell to do with that.
It's not Tua was trying to win the Bama A-Day game on the last play of the game. This kid is cold blooded. He had one receiver in mind when he broke the huddle but not the one the UGA defense thought.
I'll never get tired of watching that play. Thanks for sharing that view of it @TerryP
