University of Alabama head coach Nick Saban announced Monday that strength and conditioning coach Scott Cochran would remain in his current position with the Crimson Tide. Cochran has been a part of the Alabama football program for each of the last nine seasons.

Hocke was hired last season at 200K at UGA. This new contract for Cochran looks to be more than twice that ... looks like Cochran will make $2.50+ for every $1 Hocke makes. It's going to be 500K plus for base with incentives.

A random observation for you to chew on:

Cochran has long been rumored to follow Kirby due to friendship and loyalty. Yet, we have some suggesting that this will come up again like Saban to the NFL type rumors.

I've yet to see anyone mention the friendship and loyalty factor with Kirby and Hocke or they've worked together for a tad over six years. In a sense, it's not unlike Dillman going with Muschamp. All three of these guys are from the same "coaching tree."

For Coach to pony up that much dough on an S&C guy, you've gotta know he feels Cochran is critical to the program and their continued success. Glad to see this.
