Yeah I heard about it, apparently he had been benched earlier this year for "lack of production." Oakland is the place where careers go to die so we'll see if another team will do him good or if Ro is done.
Yeah I don't disagree with the move either, just another one of our bust..Under performed, had off field issues, injuries...Just wasn't the player he was at Alabama, which sucks I was excited when we got him..Wish him the best though, maybe he can get picked up by another team and be productive there

Really my opinion, he just didn't have the same intensity he brought at Alabama and he really didn't fit well in the 4-3.. I was hoping this would be his year with a new HC that is supposedly "defensive minded"...seems like we have regressed.. Tough being a Raiders fan
I am actually surprised it took this long. He wasnt productive at times at all and was injured several times. I don't think it was so much scheme as much as it was his lack of productivity and being a bit of a selfish brat.
Apparantly he wanted out of Oakland and was being a bit of a cancer according to nfl.com and Ian Rappaport. Ro wrote on his Facebook page that he was done mentally and he was just waiting for his papers.
^^ Naw hes definitely gone. It cant be official until Thursday because of some NFL rule but ESPN, Sports Illustrated, everybody has confirmed it with "sources."
Hate it for him. He's the type that needs a stern disciplinarian holding him in check. Without that he is a loose cannon. Maybe he can get straightened out / teamed up with an old Bama team mate.
Here's what started the rumors:
He tweeted: I'm gonna weigh my options. Looking forward to playing for an actual 'team'. There was also a post from McClain's Facebook, where he wrote: "Officially no longer an Oakland Raider!!ā but later he deleted it and said, "Well technically I am. But Iām mentally done. Just waiting on my papers.ā
And from the other day:
'Rolando McClain and Raiders Coach Dennis Allen had a heated exchange early in practice I'm told. Ended with McClain booted from field which explains his Tweets and the fallout. Allen has said he is not sure if McClain will be allowed to practice Thurs. no further comment'
And last night, "sources" confirmed he's out. If it's true it will be announced today and all signs put to yes.
