Former Alabama standouts Reuben Foster and Dalvin Tomlinson and former Auburn standout Carl Lawson are members of the Professional Football Writers of America's All-Rookie team for the 2017 NFL season.
One of Foster's former Alabama teammates, New York Giants defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson, and Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Carl Lawson, an Auburn alumnus, also are members of the PFWA All-Rookie team, which was announced on Tuesday.
Despite the missed time, Foster still finished second on the 49ers in tackles during the 2017 season. San Francisco added Foster, a high school standout at Auburn, with the 31st pick in the NFL Draft on April 27.
After joining the Giants in the second round as the 55th player picked in the draft, Tomlinson started every game at right defensive tackle for New York. He registered 50 tackles to rank ninth among the NFL's defensive tackles and made a sack in his rookie season.
The Bengals selected Lawson in the fourth round with the 116th draft choice with the intention of converting him from a college defensive end to a pro outside linebacker. But Lawson saw most of his action as a defensive end in Cincinnati's pass-rush package, and he recorded eight sacks, the most among the NFL's rookies during the 2017 season.
