You'd be wrong there, my friend.

The fervor a lot of message board posters have to be "the guy" has created a news source which beats your other news sources, hands down. When "breaking news" happens with a football team you're going to find it on forums before you see it on the main stream media. It's my opinion you're buying into a narrative pushed by the media that message forums are trash sites when it comes to news. But, the fact is, they represent their biggest threat. News breaks on forums more today than it ever has.

Just a for what it's worth here ...

Been in this "industry" since the mid 90's...before AOL was sending out their free disks. I know how the media grabs a lot of their stories. It's from message forums. The fact is fans know more about what's happening with their teams than the media guys covering said teams. And, I can support that statement because I work with those guys...have for more than two decades.

Now, if you want to talk about a staff following a recruiting site to evaluate who they offer? Now you've got a point.
