Saban has always been loyal to coaches and players; but would think whomever is the OC next year will want play the best QB on the team. If that be Tua do be it. I would hope they both would feel the need to enroll with a professional throwing coach in the off season. Roll Tide and may the best QB win the job. (All though it would different to have a returning starter)

Tua will push Jalen. I want to say that Saban told Tua that he would get a fair shake at being THE QB and don't think that just because Jalen was having a good season that Tua wouldn't get a fair chance to take over.
I've said it before and will continue to beat the drum. The QB position is the hardest to evaluate. Every coach, evaluator, fan, knows what they like or what they want in a QB. Dilfer is no different. Did Jalen struggle at times? Yep! Without a doubt!! Can he improve? I believe he can. I think we can tie his struggles into the type of system that he ran in HS. Also, the level of competition he faced. What was exactly asked of him to do? Same with Tua.
Honestly, I think we are in damn good shape at the QB position!! Should Jalen struggle or get hurt, Tua has the talent to insert and us not skip a beat. We couldn't say that this year. Now, should Tua jump ahead of Jalen. We have a backup now that led us to within seconds of a National Championship in his freshman campaign. #BamaProblems
I believe we need a QB who has running ability, but first and foremost be a good passer. To be able to see the whole field, make the best decision on where to throw the ball and deliver it accurately and on time. A QB who relies more on their arm rather than on their legs. If good teams do not respect your passing game, such as Clemson, your chances of getting beat increase.

A guy that has never even practiced in college... just stop it. You have no idea how good or bad he wont be and in 2 years Hurts is going to be the all-time leading passer at Alabama.

Lamar Jackson couldn't throw a lick his freshman year and was much improved in year 2. I'm not saying Hurts has an elite arm, but he throws a decent enough ball. IMO, the game was too fast for him as a 18yr old freshman. He didn't see the field well and missed more than a few open receivers. If his first look wasn't wide open, he took off. This worked fine against many of our opponents, but LSU laid the blue print to defend us when you have elite defensive players. Still, the kid led us on what should have been a game winning drive. I look forward to his progression and if he doesn't improve, then I'll clamor for a nice Hawaiian Punch.
