Both Bama and Auburn got dawged yesterday. Today, fans on both sides are experiencing a range of emotion as evidenced by posts here and on Auburn boards. But I just returned from church with a different perspective on it all. I learned that former Bama cheerleader (who lives near me) had to have emergency surgery for her brain tumor.

Ya'll will remember that they found a tumor on her brain a couple of years ago just as she was getting ready to return to school in the Fall. As a result of treatments and lots of prayers, it looked like the tumor was in remission. Meg was even able to be on the sideline cheering at last year's Auburn-Bama game in Tuscaloosa. Now Meg and her family need all our prayers again as the diagnosis doesn't look good.
So I ask that Bama and Auburn fans quit feeling sorry for themselves over a FB game and pray for them as Meg struggles for her life.

Great post Tiger. We may be the bitterest of foes on the football field but it begins and ends with football. We all live in the great state of Alabama and I am as proud to have Auburn fans as friends as I am to have Alabama friends as friends.

Be assured our hearts go with Meagan.

I agree a lot of things in life are a lot more important that a football game. I hope she makes a full recovery.

Great post and it does put things into perspective.

I second that.

Please keep us updated on this and thank you for the much needed reality check.

Will do. Reality hurts sometimes. I'm having trouble even thinking about FB right now when I think about losing Meg in her early 20s.
