So as we anxiously wait for the start of college football I was reading about championships and how many so and so has or doesn't have, etc. So I decided to do a quick look at champions of all sports since my birth (1972). Its a long post but I thought it was interesting to see who has been the dominant team(s) in my lifetime. Even if you take '73 from Bama we still have more than anyone in that 44 year span. That gives UA more titles than the Steelers, less than the Lakers, and tied with the Yankees, Canadiens, and Dale Earnhardt. But no one is touching Phelps!
