🏈 Point spreads for 9 Alabama games released, Tide favored in 8

Alabama's been favored in every game since the 2009 SEC championship.

It's never too early.

Preseason speculation reached another milestone Friday when the Golden Nugget casino released point spreads for some of the biggest college football games of the 2015 season. That extensive list included nine Alabama games.

The Crimson Tide is favored in eight of those nine. The lone exception, an Oct. 3 trip to Georgia, is listed as a pick 'em, according to thelist published on ESPN's website. If that held, it would break the streak of the Tide being favored in every game it's played since the 2009 SEC Championship Game.

For the opener, Alabama's listed as a 10-point favorite to beat Wisconsin. Back in April, 5Dimes listed the Tide as a 12.5-point favorite. For the Iron Bowl at Auburn, Alabama's favored by 3.5 points.

Defending national champion Ohio State is listed four times with the Buckeyes favored by no fewer than 14 points in any of the games.

Question to all you bettors out there... Is it smart to bet on the Pick 'Em game this early, thinking it will definitely be a 7-14 point spread by game time? Obviously I think Alabama will win that game and Georgia will come out flat like they always do. We could also lose a game or two before then creating the opposite scenario, but the question Imm curious about is, does it pay to bet a game like this early?

I think the bama - Georgia game being a pick-em is a mistake by vegas. That game should be a close one, but bama should've been favored by 3. I also think the Arkansas spread is incorrect, bama should only be 3 point fav so I'd bet with Arky on that one. Rest of them look a little high, but aren't out of reach as far as the spreads.

Impossible for forecast unless you're really going to "put your money where you mouth is."

Last season, the biggest move I recall (for UA) was against LSU. That lined changed almost seven points from pre-season to game time. (-9 to -2.5)

Last season, betting Arkansas to cover against LSU would have been a good bet. (LSU giving 1.5 this season.) Arkansas is favored, UGA listed as a PK.

To whom? Now, I'd take that bet right now. Any amount you wish.

I see them beating Georgia. I don't see Bama losing two games before October. Or February for that matter.

Maybe it's optimism but I think Alabama is going to be better than people think. Lots better. The last time I felt this way with such conviction was 1992.

I don't bet on here though. This board owes me a couple million Bama bucks that I lost in the great crash of 2014.

Ha ha.

I was just trying to come across as unbiased by saying anything could happen. I think the spread will be between 7-14 points in our favor the week of the game. I was more or less wondering if others thought the same as me in that the Pick 'Em line for that game was a definite good bet this early.
