He was the star of the old MI TV series, but probably best remembered for his role as the pilot in "Airplane".

When I was a kid, the old man and I never missed an episode of Mission Impossible. He was also on a show called Fury (about a boy and his horse) in the 50s and I remember that me and my brother watched re-runs of Fury every morning before school while we were eating breakfast. The guy was a great actor.
