Chalk this one up to those like the number of field goals scored against us, number of plays against us in plus territory, etc.

I found this one surfing around this morning.

This is in SEC play only. Opposing teams have to run 93.50 plays against our defense before they shatter the goose egg on the scoreboard. The next closest team is Florida, which takes half of that number before they give up a point.

Plays run til a TD is allowed

Alabama 93.50
Florida 46.85
S. Carolina 46.42
Texas A&M 40.33
Miss. State 36.00
LSU 30.33
Ole Miss 27.57
Georgia 26.09
Auburn 21.75
Vanderbilt 20.38
Arkansas 16.73
Missouri 15.82
Kentucky 14.63
Tennessee 12.93

Note the differential between our numbers and the next four opponents—specifically UT bringing up the rear. (No chugging jokes please.)

from the place you found the stats...The avg SEC game requires defense to be on for 66 plays and Tennessee is giving up a score @ 13 plays.

The Volunteers are allowing — through three SEC games — one offensive touchdown every 12.93 snaps of the ball. That’s an amazing number. Think of it this way… if the average SEC game requires a defensive unit to be on the field for about 66.5 plays, the Vols are allowing more than five offensive touchdowns per game at that 12.93-snaps rate. Turns out, through three games, UT has indeed allowed nine rushing TDs and seven via the pass.

I assume this is for this year only? Pretty interesting stat and it seems that some MLB fans are moving over to college football to come up with a stat like that!! (MLB fans know what I mean too...LOL!)

As long as we don't start seeing stats like WAR and FIP in football I'll be okay.
