Jews removed and rewrote in response to Christ. These are referred to as the Masoretic texts. Until 1054 Eastern Orthodoxy & Roman Catholicism were the same and was Christianity as practiced in the 1st century. The canon of scripture was “worked on” in Holy Synods of the 4 century. The book Wisdom of Sirach is called Ecclesiasticus (I think) in the RC Bible. The Ethiopian Orthodox (Oriental Orthodox broke off in the 4th century) has more books in their canon than any other. Even include the Book of Enoch which I have separately. The KJV is based off of the Masoretic texts. A new translation of the NT is underway by EO using original manuscripts as to date almost everyone uses the KJV version. I use 1 bible app to compare an EO translation to the KJV & there are noticeable differences at times. Specifically in severity of some terms.

Personally I would call the KJV the most corrupted because after nearly 1,000 years his scholars started tossing books. I will end by saying after 50 years as a protestant (10 yr period of atheism in the middle) I consider each new denomination sect as a dilution. Consider that Luther didn’t appear until around 500 yrs ago in response to RC shenanigans. The along came Calvin and the rest. Church of Christ 1800s in Kentucky, Mormons around the same time. Christ didn’t start revealing truth after waiting 1500 years. Just something to think about.

The oldest Christian “handbook” The Didache. Basically an apostolic handbook prior to there being an official bible because the scribes to the Apostles had difficulty writing until near the time of the Apostles death because f Jewish persecution.
