The tribal rituals of the Native Americans say differently. Sweat lodges, peyote rituals, and the like...it was a spiritual connection they were having. Puritans, had a different outlook. But, who is to argue they aren't looking at the same God. The same higher power. They are only interpreting it differently is a valid argument. It's a classic example of staring at a tree branch instead of looking at the tree...not to mention the forest.
