| MBB/WBB đźŹ€ No. 1/1 Alabama Falls to San Diego State, 71-64, in Sweet 16

Creighton played them a better game today and had overtime in hand until they touch fouled the SDSU guard on a shot as time expired. Man, we choked our first final 4 trip away. The end of sports seasons are easier to take when expectations aren’t very high! Ending of the 2021 and 2023 seasons were rough ones.

Understatement.

Experience, and age, always rears its head at tourney time.
That was the difference Friday! All of their guys were either 4th or 5th year guys and it showed. Meanwhile, our biggest contributors were underclassmen that looked as if they hadn’t yet been inside a weight room. Sears and JQ, while our most experienced, they seemed to get anxious and push the issue too much by driving to the basket. Sears is a gritty SOB though. Kid goes for a double double as a 6’ shooting guard and his was of the point/rebound variety, not assists.
Clowney and Chuck need to return, but really get in the weight room and add some bulk to their frame.

As touchy as they were calling fouls, zero clue how Sears getting hit in the face (eye) and he loses the ball because of it wasn't called. That was right when we were giving the lead away. I love watching Sears play. He ain't scared to bang with the big boys.

That poke in the eye/no call with about 9:30 left to play really changed the complexion of the game. We never could recover, even when Sears came back.
