Every year at his Nick's Kids Annual Giveaway Luncheon, Alabama coach Nick Saban says this is his favorite day of the year.
He said it again Thursday in the North Zone at Bryant-Denny Stadium, where many kids and adults gathered to celebrate the fact that more than $400,000 was distributed to 115 organizations.
That brings the total amount of donations to $4 million since Saban and his wife, Terry, arrived in Tuscaloosa in 2007, including more than $1 million in tornado relief since a devastating 2011 storm. Roughly $700,000 has been given to the First Generation College Fund.
