I've seen a few mention the Sportsbook and how it works. At the top of the page, under the banner, you'll see...

The number 21 represents the number of active games open in the Sportsbook.

Click the link. (It's a drop down menu offering other options as well)

There is a list of games for week one of the college football season.

You've got 50,000 to start the season. Bet what you want, when you want, on what you want.

The lines are based on 5Dimes. You can choose the Money Line, taking the spread, or the over / under. There isn't a limit on the money you wager, how many times you wager, or how you wager.

The odds are posted under each selection.

Bama is giving 10.5 to Wisky...$110 bet wins $100.

Money line with Bama winning... $410 bet wins $100.

There will be a few out of conference games each week and every SEC game.

End of the season we'll have some autographed items from this years team as prizes. @BamaFan334 is putting those together right now.

Questions?

This should be fun. So at the end of the season, it's basically whoever wins the most money gets the prizes? And is there a way to see a sorted list of the posters with most/least money?

There will be widgets on the forum index listing the richest, and recent winners. They haven't been turned on yet.

You'll see one on the Sportsbook page. Those dollar values haven't been reset as of yet.

I'm sure you see the current balances under your username/avatar in the userinfo box ...

Does the house have the power to reset balances?
If so do those who have the power to do so get to be in the running for the prizes? @TerryP
I'm going to play, but won't be in the prize running.

I reset balances from last year a month or so ago. The winner was well over a million last year and started with far less...

I didn't reset the widgets as of yet ... handful of other stuff I've been playing with that will be released over the next few days and weeks.

Ok.
So what you're saying is the fix is in and Woolly trash need not think of winning??

Kidding. Thanks for the info.

@Gideon Swashbuckler If you like watching the spreads and how Vegas "forecast" teams each week I think you'll like the way this works.

It is a simple pick 'em contest. But, it's not one of those that's just limited to who wins and who losses ... which is why we set it up.

I'm gonna give it a real look when I get some time. I'm just beginning a work stretch of 6/7. As the season approaches I'll prolly give it a go.

If I'm not banned by then for saying such treacherous words as "cute" & "cuddly".

So Rhino put his entire 50k on Bama winning 10 or more games... since that won't be paid out until the end of the season (or at least week 10), that means he cannot place any other bets during the season correct?

Actually. It looks like I have 500 left.

I'd forgotten I had that built in ... if one were to lose all their money during the season there's a "poor man's bonus" kind of thing built in so people can continue playing.

If you'd like, since you're new to this, I can re-establish your balance and then deduct the 50K as seasons end.

That Poor Man Bonus will affect the contest though, right?

IF someone can take $500 and in 13 games have the largest balance ... they deserve to win. However, I can't see that happening. They'd literally have to bet their entire balance each week and be right each week.

500 - 1000
1000 - 2000
2000 - 4000
4000 - 8000
8000 - 16,000
16,000 - 32,000

So, if they were right for seven games in a row they'd be sitting on a balance of 64, 000. By week eight. You have to figure they'd lose the entire 50K in week one and start with 500 in week two.

Mathematically, it just doesn't seem possible to me. More like impossible.

@252BAMA won it last year pulling in over 126K on the prop bets for the playoff...one week there. I think his year end balance was well over 1 million. Under the old software (before this Sportsbook was released/launched) @TheChief had well over a million (something you probably know since he's bitched about it several times. )

Maybe I misunderstood. I took it as he bet his $49,500 on Alabama winning 10 games and had $500 left. Is that a different person we're talking about with the Poor Man's Bonus?

I was under the impression we all got $50,000 for the season, and the person with the highest total at the end of the season off that $50,000 won the prize. I can easily be off on my thoughts due to a long ass week at work, so please correct me if I'm off base here.

That bonus kicks in when ones balance is zero. I'm going to look through the configurations a little later on and adjust the way its set up. Right now I'm trying to beat the rain and get my lawn done... give me a few hours.
