🏈 NCAA says Auburn had no major violations, ends investigation in signing of quarterback Cam Newton

Last year, Auburn had the best team in college football. They won the National Championship.

If evidence surfaces later showing that they did cheat, so be it. However, I've moved on and I've got no problem giving them credit for what they accomplished last year.

I agree with srollins

At some point, you have to just let it go. If something surfaces later, then so be it. For now, I'm more than willing to wait til we beat them this year on our way to a shot at the NC and call everything right with the world again.

Its not like losing to them was what sealed us NOT going to the title game. We lost before that game.

Definitely covered the tracks well, I mean I don't think anyone outside of Auburn believes NOTHING wrong happened in the recruitment of Cam Newton but we're winning, they suck (more proof though) and it's like they'll say "TTown Menswear Cheated" to which I respond "Well nothing's been found" and they say "But something definitely happened"... so you're telling me something could have happened even if nothing was found???

Actually, that is not true. I sat in my car during lunch today listening to Atlanta sports talk and they were slamming the media and fans for fabricating stories about Cam. They made it sound like fans that are still holding onto this story are just sour grapes.

Unfortunately if Bama fans keep bringing it up it will just make us all look very bad. I am worried that it already has. I say let it go, move on. We have a team to pull for that is doing very well so lets worry about them and not what some school on the plains did or didn't do.

Its about Cam, not Auburn.

Unless I am off base, Auburn was not the real target/issue, Cam Newton and company was. And this release spoke only to Auburn.

Auburn does not have to be involved for a deal to be done. A deal "done" without Cam's knowledge breaks the spirit of the rules, but a not the letter of the rule - thus no rule technically broken. A deal "done" with Cam's knowledge breaks both the spirit and the letter of the rule - thus a bonifide major violation that would make Cam ineligable. This question, as I understand it is still open.

This is where Auburn still sweats. Despite being proclaimed clear in the sight of the NCAA, Cam can still be found ineligable, thus forcing Auburn to vanquish its wins and title.

You must have not been listening when I was. One of the 2 Live Stews was slamming Auburn today, and yesterday I think it was Kincaid doing the same. I was actually surprised at both reactions. Basically said "we all know what went down and if it didn't why did they spend so much money defending themselves".

It was Buck & Kincaid around 12:30. They both defended Cam and Auburn while pointing out what a joke FInebaum is.

"Well it's official, it's now OK to pay players in college football."

So Cecil Newton shops Cam to Mississippi State, who doesn't have the money, then when the money isn't there, he turns around and just sends him to a better football school, with more money, higher net worth boosters and more networks, without saying a word about money to them... you may be right that not everyone thinks like we do as Bama fans, but I just think they've outsmarted the NCAA and was able to cover it up quite nicely, you know??

I agree with what some of the others already said. The NCAA spent 13 months investigating Auburn and said there were no major violations. Holding onto the issue just makes Alabama fans look bad.

Alabama had Auburn on the ropes last year, but they didn't knock them out. Of course Auburn had something to do with that. They were a national championship team.

We can all speculate "if only this" etc, but it's like Bear Bryant said. If a frog had wings it wouldn't bump its butt when it jumped.

Auburn beat Alabama last year. No amount of whining and crying about it will ever change it.

Why not focus on the present and the future of Alabama? Let Auburn fans worry about Auburn.

I just want to know who paid the eagle to fly into the window. That should be investigated along with trooper Taylor, Cam Neutrnon, and why coach Dye has quit drinking when he calls Finebaum.
