he was a holy terror out there tonight for his last game in Crimson. Caddell topped off his career nicely as well, other than the fumble.

Congrats to Gilberry, he made us proud tonight. Props to Cadell too, he had some great plays out there.

I also want to say that Rolando McClain is one tough guy. I have separated my shoulder several times, and I can't imagine going right back onto the field and keep hitting people. Plus, he also had his hand in a cast due to a broken thumb! He played his heart out tonight! I'm excited that we have him for 3 more years!

If we are going to keep spreading the love, I'm going to have to send some to Tiffin. Another quiet, but solid game.

Yep Porter there is a lot of love to spread.

I liked the effort tonight even though the 2nd half was ugly.

I'm proud of our guys and the adversity they fought through this year. Roll Tide to all of them.

Very good game for Gilberry, McClain, and Mustin. Impressed with Gilberry and McClain all night...Mustin's interception represented how much effort and hard work he's put in all season.

I was proud of the way Caddell played tonight. It was a fitting end to his career.

I hate to pick favorites but Gillberry and Mustin are my favorites on the team. Cant wait to see McClain develop, hes gonna be amazing.

Gilberry was a beast out there tonight!

I feel bad also for ripping Tiffin earlier this season. He really improved.

overall, the main thing i can say is 1st, we WON! 2nd, better. they played better. they almost self destructed at the end, but were able to hold on. some key players made key plays that saved this game.

Offense
John Parker Wilson started off the game like he played against Tennessee but after the Interception u could tell he was a lil shook. in the end he did make some key first downs in the 4th. BETTER. he had a great 1st half tho (minus the pick). Glen Coffee & Roy Upchurch both ran hard like usual, just think if Grant would've been healthy. DJ was stuck in double coverage all game long but still managed 4 catches (breaking the single season receptions record and becoming the 1st player in Alabama history to have back to back 1,000 yard receiving seasons) and the double coverage left Nakita Stover and Matt Caddell open all night long. Caddell & Stover's TDs were off of the DB's double covering DJ and leaving them open (as was most of Caddell's catches). the offensive line was better but Mike Johnson still got beat some. nice to see Nick Walker more involved in the offense too. Play Calling wasnt very good again tonight. Major was much more balanced early and then got too predictable.

Defense
started out great but let up far too many big plays. Colorado coverted WAY to many 3rd and longs. Mitchell got burned several times and Kareem Jackson, tho he is a special player, showed hes still a freshman. especially on the TD he let up. they didnt go at Simeon much as expected and Rashad Johnson got beat no a play but he played well like always and make some nice deflections. Rolando McClain was a freakin beast. dude was all over the field, first he hurts his thumb and then hurts his shoulder but still guts it out. kids got heart. Prince Hall had a great game too. Darren Mustin again played his heart out and had a huge pick late. ima just call Wallace "Backfield" Gillberry. dude LIVED in Colorados backfield tonight. he made play after play after play after play and was the one that tipped the Mustin pick late. im really gonna miss him.

Special Teams
Leigh Tiffin had a great game and Fitzgerald had a decent game punting. Javy never got a chance to return a punt but he did have some nice kickoff returns (including a HUGE one that got called back boy it was great to see him back in uniform.

My Players Of The Game:
Offensive MVP: John Parker Wilson, QB, Alabama
Defensive MVP: Wallace Gillberry, DE, Alabama

at least we have something to build on next season.

Roll Tide.

*edit*
sorry for the foul language old ppl. cleaned it up i think.

Well Upchurch should get some of the love. :D
I thought both of our backs played really well. They both had good runs, held onto the football and hit very hard, especially on the last drive when we needed to burn clock. I wish Grant would have been able to play because with his speed and elusiveness he would have turned some of those 12 yard gains into much more.

Tiffin has become Mr Dependable

Aside from the nightmare Arkansas game, Tiffin's always been strong, but he's a mainstay now.

2007:
FIELD GOALS FGM-FGA Pct 01-19 20-29 30-39 40-49 50-99 Lg Blk
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Leigh Tiffin 25-34 73.5 0-0 12-13 3-6 8-13 2-2 51 1

2006:
FIELD GOALS FGM-FGA Pct 01-19 20-29 30-39 40-49 50-99 Lg Blk
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Leigh Tiffin 8-13 61.5 0-0 3-3 3-7 2-3 0-0 47 0

If Fitzgerald punts like he did last night, we may get to redshirt our signee from WV.

I believe Wilson broke his old single season passing record last night, too. After Andrew Zow, he may be the most maligned holder of a passing record.

RTR,

Tim

JP Dubs, as me and my buddies call him, also made some big plays with his feet when we needed it. I remember reading something before the year started about his ability to run being used more in the offense. Didn't see it this year but at times he has made plays when protection broke down. Other than the int, he made overall good decisions all night. He's one of my favorites on the team when he's on point, it's the other side of him that drives me nuts.

Even as an Auburn fan, it is impossible to find anything about Wallace Gilberry to criticize.

For a guy that wasn't even recruited until he had a great all star game (which he was filling in for a hurt player in)to where he is now is impressive. He had a great game last night. Good luck to him at the next level.
